Dr Anthony Hammond

Consultant Rheumatologist & Interventional Pain Specialist
MBChB, MD FRCP

Dr Anthony Hammond is a highly experienced consultant who specialises in treating joint and spine-related conditions. He has particular expertise in managing pain through advanced, minimally invasive techniques. His main areas of focus include rheumatoid arthritis, other forms of inflammatory arthritis, and back pain caused by conditions like slipped discs, trapped nerves, and wear-and-tear (degenerative) changes in the spine.

Dr Hammond completed his medical degree at the University of Edinburgh and went on to train in general medicine and rheumatology at leading hospitals in Bristol, Bath, and London. This included specialist training at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath (also known as the Mineral Water Hospital), the Hammersmith Hospital, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.

He is especially interested in modern, regenerative treatments that support the body’s natural healing processes—such as Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cell therapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. These therapies, along with other minimally invasive techniques, can be highly effective in relieving pain and improving mobility without the need for major surgery.

Dr Hammond helps patients with a wide range of issues including back and neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, whiplash, and soft tissue conditions like tendonitis. He also treats problems such as brachialgia (nerve pain in the arm) and cervical disc conditions (neck disc problems).

He is dedicated to providing personalised, evidence-based care to help patients manage pain, improve function, and get back to living life as fully as possible. Dr Hammond combines years of experience with the latest medical advancements to offer compassionate, cutting-edge treatment for complex spinal and joint conditions.
