Consultant Radiologist

Dr Malik is a consultant radiologist based at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Trust and is the lead in musculoskeletal radiology. He is a senior clinical lecturer for the University College London Medical School and is also on the Scientific Programme Committee for the Royal College of Radiologists.
Trained at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Dr Malik has developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal MRI and ultrasound. In particular in ultrasound guided injections. He has also gained experience at Harefield Hospital in cardiac imaging in particular cardiac CT. Dr Malik trained as a physician and gained the MRCP qualification and subsequently trained as a radiologist and duly obtained the FRCR. He lectures extensively both nationally and internationally.
Dr Malik has been working in Essex for ten years. He is a keen medical educator organising and running revision courses for medical students and junior doctors. He has been given numerous awards for his teaching and was recently given the EMEA (excellence in medical education award) from UCL.
He is a Consultant Radiologist with a sub-speciality in Musculoskeletal Imaging with MRI and Ultrasound guided injections. Dr Malik is extensively involved in imaging high end professional athletes and in particular is involved in developing bespoke rehabilitation programmes for sporting injuries. Dr Malik is working with Isokentic FIFA accredited rehabilitation centres.
